Terra does not collect, store, sell or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind.
None. The app has no server of its own and transmits no personal information to the developer or to anyone else.
If you grant the optional location permission, the app reads your approximate (coarse) location on the device only, solely to center the globe view on your region. The location is used in memory on your device, is never stored permanently, and never leaves your device. Denying the permission simply keeps the default view; the app works fully without it.
The app downloads publicly available scientific data to render the planet: satellite cloud imagery, NASA imagery and natural event feeds, NOAA space weather (aurora) data, public weather model data, and the position of the International Space Station. These requests fetch public files and do not include personal information. The third-party services involved receive standard network request metadata (such as IP address) as with any internet download, governed by their own policies.
No data is shared with third parties by the developer, because no data is collected.
The app is suitable for general audiences and collects no data from anyone, including children.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published at this same address with a new effective date.
